Hi, my name is Barry. Barry the bear. I'm big, fluffy and I'm Pink! Yes, you've read right, I'm a pink bear named Barry. I did not choose my name. It was decided for me by the people that made me. I am lovable and cute, or so i believed. You see dear reader, I have been on this shelf in this toy shop owned by Mrs. Sterling ever since I can remember and not once has anyone thought to buy me. Why you may ask? well the answer is quite simple; I am a plushy, and no one buys plush toys anymore. I've seen parents come into the toy store with eager children ready to buy and I'd make sure I was clean and dust free but they all look pass me. They are all interested in plastic toys like water guns and barbies and such. So I'm left on my shelf to gather dust once more.

I've seen toys returned and exchanged for money or other toys. It is sad that we are easily traded and replaced. I have never known joy or hugs and I don't think I ever will. Times are changing and new toys are arriving, yet I am still remaining. It is a really lonely life for a plush but I suppose being on the shelf has its perks. You don't get used as a chew toy for animals and pets anymore. Back in the day that was what we were used for when beans and sand was used to fill our innards. Thankfully fluff was later used because beans were scarce and sand was used for more important purposes. I have lost many brothers and sisters to pets and other animals. Yes dear reader life on a shelf is no fun but its safe. All I ask of you is to treat your toys with care and love. We may be toys but we deserve kindness and love too.
