Spring Year 2 – Week 12

For the past few weeks, I have been lucky enough to be able to participate in a class called Art and Resilience and now we are about halfway done with it. It has been a great opportunity to think outside the box and view all artistic expression in a new light. One of the most recent assignments was to identify what we feel like we need to be recognized in life. I kind of gathered that while a lot of people feel like this is essential, their whole reason for living, I personally disagree. For me, I am just as happy going out with a bang as burning slowly but brightly in every existence. As such, I think people are better off living for their own beliefs rather than those expectations of others around them.

I have been spending more time reading than anything lately, slowly making progress in The Witching Hour by Anne Rice which I can see will get better, hopefully soon… I have also been reading a few short story collections, one of which is The Corn Maiden and Other Nightmares by Joyce Carol Oates, which has been a bit of a mixed bag honestly, but at least the titular story was enjoyable and well-written.
