Inkspired 2.9 and new ways to interact

We are thrilled to announce the latest update for our mobile app, version 2.9, and share what it means for the Inkspired world. This release lays the foundation for three significant enhancements that will be rolled out across all platforms in the coming weeks and months. Update now from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store!

Direct Messaging

After years of anticipation, we are excited to introduce private messaging, one of the most requested features over the years. You can now start chats with your mutual followers and share Inkspired content directly within these messages. Additionally, you can "react" to messages, marking the beginning of a new way to engage with content across the platform. Expect this feature to not only improve with future updates but also to expand and integrate, paving the way for new story formats. Exciting times are ahead for community interaction!

Universes and Glossaries

Another highly requested feature is finally here: the integration of Universes. Since their initial release in 2021, Universes have been steadily growing in popularity among our creators. They have become a vital resource for avid readers eager to explore the fictional worlds of their favorite stories. With this update, we have officially started integrating Universes into the mobile app, enhancing what they can offer for both writers and readers. The possibilities for enriching stories are vast! It's also possible to browse between the Universes' theme categories in the search screen.

In version 2.9, we have made public Universes and Glossary profiles available, while the creation of these features still remains exclusive to the website. This will change with our next release, version 2.9.5, scheduled for this Fall, so you won’t have to wait long!

Long press for quick access

A significant addition to this update is the ability to long press on content to access a quick menu with improved accessibility. This feature allows you to share content faster and perform actions with Inkspired's content that were previously longer to achieve.

Inkspired Originals

Discover a world of exclusive content with Inkspired Originals, now available on the search screen. These unique stories, available only on Inkspired, offer fresh narratives and innovative formats you won't find anywhere else. Dive into an array of captivating tales that are sure to spark your imagination and leave you inspired. Enjoy the best of Inkspired's creative community, tailored just for you.

Bug fixes and other details

We’ve made several minor improvements to enhance usability and fix performance issues including the loading of webtoons' images and galleries. We've also updated content filters and mechanics, including the ability to filter stories by their "completed" or "in progress" status, and to purchase stories over the "pay per chapter" method. We have revamped the way the Premium benefits are presented, plus added your current premium benefits (bonuses, credits, and tickets) to consult anytime from your settings menu.
