“The Christian terrorists at the capitol have been executed in front of the capitol at 3:32pm. However they have killed mostly everyone in the building during the time of their attack. What they caused is a tragedy.” Mr. President said.
A security guard walked up to him. They whispered something in his ear.
“Some of the terrorists have been identified. Maria Elsher, Joel Fermi, Ester Wright. The leader of the operation was Nicholas Arnold.” Mr. President revealed.
I guess it's true. They are all dead.
I stopped watching the tv. I called a meeting in the meeting room. Rhea tuned in on an earpiece.
“What now Adam?” Simon asked me.
“I don’t know.” I replied.
“Maybe we could organize an event to remember the lives of the people who died?” Diana suggested.
“It could be like a yearly thing.” Rhea added.
“Sure, I will organize for something like that to happen later tonight.” I said.
“That's out of the way, what now about just life on our bases?” Simon asked.
“It will continue as it previously continued. Just without Nicholas, Joel, Ester, Maria, and others.” I said.
“Alright folks, I can’t stay in this meeting for too long. I have to get back to helping.” Rhea said.
“Any questions?” I asked.
I got no replies.
“Then that concludes this meeting.” I said.
Rhea disconnected. Diana and Simon walked out.
I began to organize the event. It would be an event with dinner included. It would be happening first in the cafeteria then it would continue to be outside. And outside will be a funeral just without the bodies.
While planning Rhea called.
“Adam, I won't be able to be there in person for the event. I have to do more helping in Frelo.”
“I understand.” I said.
“That's all.” Rhea said and disconnected.
I continued to plan out the event.
After I finished planning I got people to help me set up the graves for Nicholas, Ester, Maria, Joel and other people.
I also had Luke go to Grensly. I want him to give an invite to Eunice.
He has curly hair the color of the sun and eyes the color of dirt. He is 6 feet.
Luke is one of the people that came to Water Mountain. We got the chance to talk a lot. In a way we became friends. Also Luke has helped me a lot with training others.
I did more organizing for the event.
It was going to begin at 7pm.
One hour before the event I got myself ready. I brushed my hair and put on some perfume. I kept the same military clothes on.
I went downstairs. I began helping others in the cafeteria get the area set up.
After 50 minutes the event began. Everyone was sitting and eating. I was giving a speech through a microphone.
“Hello everyone, thank you for coming. It is great to see you all here. The reason we all are here is to remember the lives that were lost at the capitol. The lives of the people on our side. Our leader died in the fight, Nicholas. I knew Nicholas personally. He was my childhood friend. Nicholas was someone I definitely won’t forget.”
I paused speaking for a moment.
“They are with God now. May they rest in peace.” I said through the mic.
I went back to sit with Diana and Simon.
As we were sitting Eunice and her two guys approached me.
“Hello Eunice, I’m Adam. New leader.” I said and took my hand out as a way of a business handshake.
She shook my hand.
“Congratulations on your speech.” Eunice said.
“Thank you.” I said.
“I also give my condolences to all of you.” Eunice said and looked at everyone.
“Thank you.” I said.
“Anyhow, could I talk with you Adam? But privately.” Eunice asked.
“Sure.” I replied
“Okay, Mike and Johnny stay here.” Eunice then turned to me. “Let’s go.” Eunice said.
We walked outside. Eunice began speaking.
“I’m going to get straight to the chase. I would like to be allies. I believe that we can help each other. I also want our people to be able to travel between our camps.” Eunice added.
“How will I know that it's somebody of yours?” I questioned.
“They will say I’m from Eunice. Also do the checks you do when a new person comes.” Eunice added.
“Sounds like a solid plan.” I said.
“Is that a yes?” Eunice inquired.
“It's a yes.” I replied.
Eunice went back inside. I went to check on the graves.
There were 9 graves. Just enough.
They looked neat. However it bothered me we couldn’t have
a proper burial for them.
I called for everyone to go outside.
A crowd formed.
I decided to make a speech by speaking loudly.
“I wish that today we could have a proper burial but we can’t. These nine died not in vain, but for Christ. However their sacrifice will be remembered. May they all rest in peace.”
Eunice, Diana, Simon and I began burying their graves.
As others watched there was silence.
After Simon, Diana, Eunice and I finished we just stood and had a minute of silence.
During it I saw Diana shed a tear.
Afterwards I continued to look at the graves.
Their deaths won’t be forgotten.
