Tarot is a form of divination that uses a deck of cards to gain insight into past, present, or future events, as well as to explore spiritual and psychological aspects of the self.

A standard tarot deck typically consists of 78 cards, divided into the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards that represent significant life events or spiritual lessons, while the Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards divided into four suits (usually pentacles, cups, swords, and wands), similar to a regular deck of playing cards.

During a tarot reading, the reader shuffles the cards and lays them out in a specific pattern, called a spread, and interprets the cards' symbolism and their positions to provide insights, guidance, or answers to the querent's (the person receiving the reading) questions.

While some practitioners believe in the mystical and spiritual significance of tarot, others approach it as a tool for self-reflection, storytelling, or a way to tap into the subconscious mind. Tarot readings are often used for personal growth, introspection, and as a means of exploring different perspectives on a situation or decision.
