The Introduction

I was recently approached by a friend that was emotional. She had been sent text messages from her Uncle that had sent her links about hell. Saying that she needed to turn to Christ or burn in hell for all eternity. I was emotionally drawn into the conversation.

The very first thing that I thought. Was there really religions that took this approach? Is this a new trend? Trying to scare someone into religion? She was telling me she would never speak to him again about religion. Honestly, I thought—neither would I.

Asking her this question. The 1st thing I said is this. Would you really want to be part of that belief? One that says you will burn in hell for all eternity, for a life of 80 years? Would a merciful God do that? I think not.

I said to her to simply ask her Uncle if he could send her supporting scripture. Where in the Bible does it say that sinners will burn for all eternity?

She asked if there was any? I said I have read the Scripture from front to back. I never came across anything about sinners burning in hell for all eternity. She asked if I could share with her a verse or anything that she could send to her Uncle? I simply replied, I would send her supporting scripture later that day.
