The bell rang, signaling the end of school. It bustled with students from different countries around the world in hallways, corridors, and elsewhere students would go. Tall people, short people, thin people, anyone! Among them, stood a tall girl with sapphires as her eyes and long wavy blonde hair as her charm. The environment was new to her so, she had no friends and didn't know anyone in the crowd. Then, she felt a light tap on her shoulder.
"Hey, are you lost?"
She turns around and sees a girl with long black hair and emerald eyes. Her smile was so warm, three long winter months could be warmed with them. She nods in reply for she was rather a shy person and didn't know how to make friends or talk to strangers.
"Follow me."
She brushes her hair out of her face as she follows the person out of the crowd and to a less crowded place.
"Thanks," she mumbles under her breath.
"You're welcome."
"Are you new here?"
She was trying to stir up a conversation between up. It was obvious.
"Yeah, my family just moved here so, I'm a bit lost."
"Don't worry, I'll help you out and maybe we can be friends."
She held her as she shows her around the school.
"This is the Chemistry lab, this is the Art room..."
She keeps on rambling as she shows her each room but she pays no attention. She didn't care about the tour-well, kind of but she was more happy about someone talking to her. Deep down, she felt like a real friend to her.
"Ok, so, if you have any questions, I'm always here to assist you."
She skips away as she heads out of the building leaving the new girl at the entrance. She feels happy that she somehow made a new friend. She walks home, her hands in her pocket with her headphones on. She was thinking about everything that happened. Natasha's warm smile, her eagerness to talk to her, things were awesome here.
"That girl is nice, I hope we can be friends one day, maybe when we go to school tomorrow but, what if she doesn't want to be friends? Oh, that's silly, of course, she wants to she mentioned it earlier."
Meanwhile, Natasha was at her house, in the kitchen mooching on the chocolate dough that was in the fridge.
"Nats! What do you think you're doing?"
That was her older brother Max. He always got annoyed whenever he caught her mooching on the dough.
"I'm... checking the flavor of the dough."
"Really?" He raises an eyebrow as he questions her.
"Oh, fine! Maybe I am."
"Typical! Anyways, are we out of anything? I'm heading to the grocery store for some shopping. Need anything while I'm there?"
She quickly dashes into the fridge and examines everything in there.
"We're out of apples, cookies, milk, bread, carrots, grapes, yogurt, and strawberries. I only need some color pens and a mini bag to put them in."
"Ok."
Max grabs his keys and bolts out of the door and starts his car.
"Please don't burn the house down while I'm out shopping, ok? If you're hungry, there's some pasta in the freezer. Just warm it and do not burn it; we don't have another home. You can see, I'm doing my best to keep us in this house. Understood?"
"Yes, Max."
Max drives out of the driveway and zooms off, leaving Natasha in the house. She goes upstairs to her room-basically the attic and starts doing her assignments. She thinks about everything that happened. "Charlotte is friendly although a bit shy. I want to be friends with her but I can't tell her about myself. She'll think awful of me and label me as an outcast and I don't even have any friends. I guess I'll just refuse to open up about myself and we can be friends." she thinks.
Meanwhile, New Girl is at home, on her computer, going through some documents while blasting music.
"Can you keep the noise down in here!" her mum yells as she bangs on the door annoyed.
"Sorry, Mum," she yells as she lowers the volume down.
She closes her laptop and flops on her bed, trying to finish up her assignments. She's thinking of everything too.
"Man, that girl is really friendly. I should ask her if we can be friends tomorrow. She looks amazing and awesome, I don't know how I can top that. But I got to try. Maybe, I should change myself, and be a more open person. Yes, I can do it!"
She finishes up and goes downstairs to help her mum in the kitchen.
"Mum, do you need any help?" she asks.
"No, but you can take out the trash to the curb for me."
She grunts as she ties the bag and hauls it down to the curb, tossing it into the bin. She watches the sun slowly set in the sky, whispering some things to herself.
"It's the start of a new adventure."
Indeed, a start of a new adventure and a bit of problems along the way.
