Prologue: Welcome Home, Dallas

The wheels of Dallas's truck kicked up dust as he sped down the dirt road, his past hot on his heels. He'd been on the run for years, trying to outrun the mistakes that had landed him in trouble in the first place. But now, he was coming home, back to the town he'd grown up in.

As he approached the city limits, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He'd left this town as a notorious bad boy, and he knew that his reputation would follow him wherever he went.

But he was determined to start over. He'd paid his dues, and now he just wanted a chance to make things right. As he pulled into the gas station at the edge of town, he took a deep breath and stepped out of the truck.

He had barely stepped foot into town when he was confronted by the town sheriff herself, his old flame, Mia.

"Dallas," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "What brings you back here?"

"I just needed to come home," he replied, his heart pounding in his chest.

Mia studied him for a moment, her eyes probing his. "Well, just remember, I'm watching you. Your past mistakes don't just disappear because you're back in town."

Dallas nodded, his eyes downcast. He knew he had a lot to make up for, and he didn't want to mess things up with Mia. He still loved her, even after all this time.

As he made his way through town, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being followed. He quickened his pace, his senses on high alert. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and he turned around to face a group of unfamiliar faces.

"You messed with the wrong people, Dallas," one of them growled. "You owe us, and we're here to collect."

Dallas's heart sank as he realized what was happening. His past was catching up with him, and he was in way over his head.

But he wasn't one to back down from a fight. He squared his shoulders and braced himself, ready to take on whatever came his way. For better or for worse, he was back in town, and he was here to stay.
