“Now, a person who thinks all the time.. Has nothing to thing about except thoughts. So, they lose touch with reality. And live in a world of illusions. But thoughts I mean specifically- chatter in the skull. And as more time passes, we all increasingly become crazy and undefined.. Because through extensive amounts of thinking, eventually, we lose touch with the real world. Wouldn’t you agree, Justice One?” Spoke a stern, female voice as Gypsy sat in silence at the opposite end of the table, her armor glistening in the holographic light while shining in the dark, muddled room. The person she was listening to- Doctor Halsey- had been talking with no end for the past hour and a half, and Gypsy was about ready to be dismissed from this boring room and assigned a new mission with a handful of the Spartans living on the UNSC ship, ‘Pillar of Autumn’, or known fondly with her certain crew as ‘The Dawn’. But, It was the safest place she could possibly be at that moment, as some of the other UNSC ships such as ‘Infinity’, Or ‘Orion’ had been mercilessly destroyed by the covenant. So, she supposed that she would have to deal with these debriefs and somehow survive through them. “..Justice One, Are you ignoring my presence here?” Said Doctor Halsey with her voice raised slightly. Gypsy quickly looked up with her chin high as the snapped back into focus, her eyes darting straight to make eye contact with the Doctor. Halsey was a taller woman, with a skinny figure, a bobbed haircut, and shiny, blondeish silver hair with lifeless blue eyes. Although Gypsy herself was the UNSC’s highest ranked Spartan, with Master Chief, and the key point for them winning the war with aliens, Doctor Halsey still made her want to just jump off a bridge from how secretive and annoying she was, despite her being able to lock Gypsy up anytime Halsey would like if she had disrespected the doctor. Not that she wanted to. “Yes, ma’am. My apologies.” Gypsy replied in a steady tone with her shoulders square, trying her best to relax her frill and posture. “It seems almost as if the world could give out and crash into nothing but darkness at any given moment,” She continued. “But it won’t, of course. See, Project Chaos, deception matters more than any of us would like to admit. Not because of its trickery, of course, but to remind all of us that everyone, even the best of us,” She paused for a moment, leaning forward to rest her arms on the table. “Can break.” Break? What did that mean? See, this was exactly why Gypsy despised all these conversations. They never ended, and never had any point to them. “And as my assistants have been analyzing from your past four missions, it seems that you haven’t been as.. Focused.” Doctor Halsey said as she glared Gypsy down like a wolf hunting it’s prey. “Doctor Halsey, may I ask why you think this?” Gypsy asked with a shiver chilling down her spine. “See here,” The Doctor said as the hologram to their right suddenly flashed, a file appearing on its surface not a moment later. The file contained Gypsy’s latest mission, and most of the information typed on it. The mission was on the barren, desert planet Xerxis, and the goal had been to disable a Covenant base’s tracking device and use stealth to her advantage with minimal casualties. “Ma’am, my apologies, but I don’t see the current problem here.” Gypsy said respectfully as she glanced between sentences explaining how she had taken over the base and such. Doctor Halsey shook her head as the hologram zoomed in to a certain spot where the casualties were laid. “Project Chaos, this is the problem we are facing with you.” She replied sternly as Gypsy realized what she was talking about. The hologram said, ‘Mission’s Casualty Goal: 0. Casualties reported: 2,659.’ “The covenant is our enemy. I got rid of the enemy. ” Gypsy turned her head to make eye contact with her again as the hologram shut off. “The reason I am showing you this, Project Chaos, is because our reports of you specifically lately have showed that your aggression toward living organisms has increased by over 40%, and rapidly. I hope you acknowledge that is a problem. And that is why the Chairman, President and I have decided that this is the best decision for you.” The Doctor said with a menacing tone before sitting back in her seat as Gypsy heard footsteps behind her. “Wait, what is the best decis-“ Gypsy was cut off by hands closing over her eyes and others shoving her out of her chair, slamming onto the ground and knocking the wind out of her. She tried to recover, frantically clawing around, but was quickly retained by even more people holding her arms and legs on the ground while gloved fingers closed around her mouth. She snarled, blindly managing to rip off most of the stranger’s grasp and lunge forward, grabbing onto the table frantically and hoisting herself up to whip her narrow head toward the Doctor. Halsey was being guarded by two Death-Shell special forces Spartans, standing their ground firmly as the Doctor backed away. Gypsy nailed her claws firmly into the silver, metal table, betrayal fueling her anger as she lunged toward the Spartans and Doctor. Although Gypsy was outnumbered greatly, her skill, strength, and overall motive was overwhelming for the soldiers. Bullets bounced off of her armor as the Special forces Spartans opened fire before Gypsy raked her needle-sharp claws across one of them, ripping into their armor and tearing away deeply into their flesh. The Spartan was thrown across the room by Gypsy’s strength and collapsed onto the ground, grasping their chest while crimson blood oozed out over the neat, shiny floor. Gypsy whipped her head back around and pumped her legs, lowing her head down so her sharp frill pointed straight out as she charged toward the other one, impaling through them entirely as they screamed in pain before going limp. She slammed their body into a wall before grabbing the bodys’ shoulders and ripping her frill out of their stomach, blood trickling down onto Gypsy’s helmet lenses. She whipped her head around toward the Doctor, but before she could make a move, something sharp stabbed itself into Gypsy’s leg, crunching through softer bits of her armor. She peered down to see that it was a needle-like bullet with a see through casing containing a black liquid, which quickly disappeared into her blood. Oh shit. That was a tranq bullet. Gypsy tried to continue advancing toward the Doctor, at least seven more tranqs whamming into her shoulder, neck, side, and legs, but her anger kept her going until she grabbed Halsey’s shoulders and slammed her into the wall, her face plastered with fear as she screamed “STOP!” To Gypsy. As she felt her body become numb, more tranq bullets were shot into her flesh, causing her to release Halsey and sway back and forth until she fell over, her vision rapidly becoming blurry. “Drug Project Chaos as much as possible. I won’t want her moving until she is ready to be woken up.” She heard the Doctor speak after a few seconds of silence, but eventually the world flipped over, her ears were overcome by ringing, and she drifted off into a forced sleep.
