craziness Nycole Goodwin

I was asked a question one day about the 6th commandment that God gave Moses while he was on the mount. I pray that this can help someone with that same question!

Barabbas

I have had someone asked "If you break Exodus 20:13, which is one of the 10 commandments will God forgive those who kill?" I turned around and heard them say "only God can take a way a life not man" and that is a trye statement. So, can God forgive those who break Exodus 20:13 like he can with all the other commandments?

In this chapter I am going to discuss Barabbas. While, the crowd was chosing Barabbas over Jesus. Lets do a little look back information. Jesus has been betrayed by one of his disciples where he was arrested. They was trying to find fault in Jesus so they can crucify him and could not find one. So, they took him to Pilate.

Matthew 27:11-31 (KJV)

For a minute, lets look at verse 16"And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas."

"A notable prisoner" if Barabbas want that title he can keep it, because I sure do not want that title.

Mark 15:1-15 (KJV)

Lets look at Verse 7"And there was one named Barabbas which lay bound witht hem that had made insurrection with him, who had commited murder in the insurrection."

Luke 23:13-25 (KJV)

Verse 18 and 19"And they cried out all at once, saying, away with this man, and release ubti us Barabbas. (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)"

In Luke 23:19 once again have him as a murderer.

John 18:39-40 (KJV)

Verse 40"Then cried they all again, saying, not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber."

John gave us a new label for Barabbas a robber. During the time Pilate was questioning Jesus. Not only did Pilate found no fault in him, but he also did not say much to defend himself.

Yes, during this time outside from where Pilate was questioning Jesus. The crowd outside was being persuaded by the cheif priest and elders to chose Barabbas and to destroy Jesus according to Matthew 27:20 (KJV).

Jesus did have a way out called speak up at any moment and stick up for himself and he didn't. Regardless of the crowd Jesus had every right to speak up.

Back at the beginning of this I asked a question that I was asked. "If you break Exodus 20:13 which is ine if the 10 commandments will God forgive those who kill?" This person is correct. "Only God can take away a life."

So, was it okay for the cheif priest and the elders wanting to kill either Barabbas or even Jesus sincr it means men are taking away a life.
