Darkness embraced you,
a darkness ancient and unknown.
A thousand ages it has come,
taking you and I.

Garments we have worn,
fabrics and skins of many lands.
Face after face here we have met,
in this naked sky.

Whilst apart we cried,
tears of longing and tears of blind.
But darkness brought us into light,
and there we did laugh.

So speed now ahead,
that to happiness you travel.
Ride upon the wings of this dark,
this shadow unknown.

Meet the author

Cristian Orellana In search of sanity and peace. I write short poems, they give me solace and happiness. Rather dark and cryptic, I do hope they connect with someone. I am an amateur writer, and I hope to improve the more I write and learn. Thank you for reading. I also do some instagraming, look for me as @chirimantecman.
