— They're coming! They're coming! – that was all I could hear.
I didn't understand anything! Suddenly, this turnaround.
Without knowing anything (much less what was happening), I got up and ran to save myself.
I don't know exactly where I got up from. I only know that I got up because I felt myself get up. Everything that happened before that, I just don't remember!
It's as if I had suffered a blackout.
Next to me, women with their children pulled by their hands, run desperately towards the forest. It should be safer there, so I'll follow along.
Some people are already ahead of me, but I feel curious about what happens, so I look back, hoping to find out who my enemy is.
A huge white flash makes it difficult to see.
It's difficult to know who it is, but you can hear the horses' footsteps.
I'm about to run into a tree when I look ahead again.
Luckily, I avoided it and entered the woods along with the others.
That's when things get worse!
Boom! Boom!
I hear explosion and more explosion behind me.
They are clearly trying to facilitate their entry into the forest by destroying the trees.
They want to destroy us!
It's because?
We were quietly living our lives, we didn't hurt anyone.
I think that if our country intended to go to war, it should have informed us of this through the TV news.
But not! Neither on the radio nor even in the old-fashioned paper newspaper did they warn us! If they had done so, someone would have already commented on the matter and we would have known about it.
Clop, clop, clop.
The sound is getting closer to me.
Not this one! I must have stepped on a rock because my foot slips and I fall.
They're going to catch me!
Desperate on the ground, I see the legs of a black horse passing very close to me. As I am in a shadowed area, I curl up and use my arms to cover my face, with my hands, I hold my head down. My intention is not to be noticed (maybe I am mistaken for a stone).
But my anxiety makes me have to look through the crack between my arms.
On the other side, there is another horse, dark too, but I'm not sure if it's black.
I see two figures, one is closer to the ground.
A woman shouts: — You have to get up now, now! You need to get up! Get up!
And while I still hear the vowel sound of its last pronounced syllable sounding long, the man on the horse strikes with a sword, quick and accurate, right in the middle of the body of the figure that seemed to be smaller, lower.
He must have been fallen or perhaps on his knees begging for mercy that didn't happen.
Waving her arms, the taller figure is clearly the woman I heard, although I still can't see her clearly. But along with her desperate movement, you can hear her sterile and desperate scream.
— I can not take it anymore! – I can still hear her complaining.
At that moment I see a white horse, blued by the moon, approaching her, coming from deeper in the forest.
I think they're going to kill her, but I can't do anything. At that moment, my self-defense instinct speaks louder and in my heart, I am satisfied with the Lord that I have not yet been seen.
— I'll figure it out. – I hear a male voice say.
Clang! Clang! Clang! – a metallic click is heard.
What will this be?
A new weapon?
Whatever it was, it caught the attention of the knights who now rode out of the forest and as they did so the white light that invaded the forest after the explosions disappeared.
The means of transport that owned that lighthouse must also have changed its direction in order to reach the location of that sound.
Stunned. I stand up fearfully, with my back bent, trying to see if I could find any other survivors so I would know where to go.
Unfortunately, I didn't see anyone, even that woman had already run away.
I look to the side and see the tremendous gap caused in the forest just because they didn't want to stop their pursuit.
In the distance, it is still possible to see four horses leaving.
Therefore, I move forward, delving deeper and deeper into that forest, which I have never visited before.
I don't know where this will lead, nor if there will be any civilization on the other side, but it is the surest path to take.
Splashes fall on my face.
Began to rain. I believe the Lord is weeping over the slaughter of His children.
The earth is becoming increasingly slippery beneath my feet and it makes me imagine how red-slick the roads and sidewalks must be.
— Oh! – a wailing sound comes out of my mouth and along with it my stomach, now sick, tries to make me vomit!
I put my hand over my mouth and avoid my reaction, but I feel dizzy. Everything around me seems to spin and I decide to take shelter from the rain somewhere until my head cools down.
I am tired.
I rest my right hand on the first well-covered log in front of me. I look up and try to admire the dense cover of leaves.
My thighs are stiff and trembling at the front. I should have been sleeping before coming here. That's what I should have been doing. That's why I need rest.
I rest my other hand on the tree.
Am I really in my city?
I mean... If I am, I must have run a lot, because I just don't remember seeing any kind of forest near my house.
And... if I'm not... Who brought me here and why?
I turn back thoughtfully and at that moment I notice wet substances on my face. But it's not water. It's disgusting, more like sticky!
A bad feeling starts to manifest itself in these wet spots, I'm getting several points of pain on my face and when I try to wipe it off, I realize what it is: leech slugs!
Several of them fell, I don't know how, on me, and now they try to devour me!
— Help! – I start to scream but give up on the second syllable when I remember the four horsemen.
It's not a safe place there.
I run hoping to quickly find a sheltered place to stay, like a cave for example.
I hear noises behind the plants.
To my consolation (or not), it was an animal.
The wolf jumped towards me and I had to fight to get him away from me.
The battle was difficult. The animal didn't want to leave me. I fell to the ground and the canine, growling, tried to tear my arm, which I was using to push him hard.
Finally, I managed to obtain my victory over this fierce wild being.
I saw him fall next to me on his back and get up in a contorted manner and afraid of his counterattack, I immediately looked for the biggest branch I could find.
I don't know if it was because he was afraid that I was armed or if he really gave up on me, but I could hear him barking as he left, which made me think that the creature might be a coyote.
I walked for a few moments holding that piece of wood just in case, but I left it aside in some not very calculated place and continued walking.
"That's enough!" I convince myself that there is no cave in that place.
But if so, where am I going to spend the night?
I can't sleep outside in the mud and in heavy rain!
I look up and stretch out my hand to check if the rain has eased, and then a white ray passes through the sky and causes a deafening boom!
Head down, I feel defeated and conclude that the best way to spend the night is to wake up.
It's then that I realize that so far I haven't met anyone like that in the city, and it's been a long time.
So, where did they go?
I've been moving forward since I entered here, but perhaps these fugitives went to the right, since the left was where I was hiding, and I didn't notice any movement on that same side other than mine.
I continue to the right until I begin to notice the signs of dawn.
My mission to stay awake throughout the night worked, however, this attitude did not remove my tiredness, on the contrary, and therefore, I still need to rest.
My hope is that by finding those people, I can find a place to rest.
My foot seems to be stepping on nothing, even though I didn't see any holes along the way. When I try to return, backwards, along the same path I was coming from, I begin to struggle, enveloped in something dark that molds itself to my entire body!
It's impossible to get rid of. It's stuck and I'm already suffocating.
I don't know exactly how it happened, or why it happened (because I didn't even have time to scream), but, suddenly, I was pulled out of that quicksand, with immense strength and agility.
I barely have time to breathe again and I already have to keep running after my savior who is walking away, without saying a single word to me.
Bending over from lack of air, I follow it eager to find civilization.
The sun high in the sky now, here on earth, blurs my vision. The flash of its rays that passes through the branches of the trees falls on my vision in a blinding way.
I stretch out my arm and use my right hand to create a shadow.
But what's in front of me?
A white horse!
Clop, clop, clop...
I wished, I really hoped, that that horse belonged to a resident of that other village!
Alongside, moving forward, I see riding with their riders on top of them, a beige horse, a brown horse and a black horse.
I panic!
I am tired!
I can't walk straight anymore!
As soon as the rain stops and these pests reappear?
I return to the forest.
I tumble against a root and fall, supporting myself with both hands, thus avoiding smashing my face.
The person on the white horse perhaps didn't see me (as for the others, I'm sure they didn't).
I try to quickly free my foot, which was stuck under the root of the leafy tree, but haste... It's the enemy of perfection!
My delay in being able to free my foot increases my fear.
Supporting myself on the floor, I get up and go.
It is then that a loud sound of radio static can be heard.
Confused by the situation, I stop for a moment and look over my left shoulder to understand.
A huge swarm of bees flies around, shading wherever it goes and the forest appears cloudy because of this.
They must be from some apiary that those soldiers destroyed.
I shouldn't have been late. It was my big mistake!
The cloud! All the insects took me for their victim.
I don't see anything around me, there are many.
Now lying on the ground, I feel my whole body swell.
I don't want to imagine what kind of deformity my body has because of this!
I feel my entire body hurt.
I won't last long anymore.
— Atchim! – I woke up with my own sneeze.
I think falling asleep in this situation gave me the flu.
I see my vision go white.
I believe I am going to the Lord.
— They're coming! They're coming! – I hear as my body starts to shake.
Yes! The angels of the Lord are coming to get me.
And given everything that has happened, I feel satisfaction with the situation and no desire to regret it.
Finally, this problem will end.
— Finally, you woke up!
— Do you know how long we've been trying to wake you up? – says my angry young mother.
I'm in my room, but precisely, lying in my bed and the one mocking was my brother.
Everything that has happened so far has been nothing more than a huge nightmare, generated by everything they did and said, to wake me up.
Even my dog was used for this.
This was done because today is the day of a big test that I have to take, which could be my golden chance.
— Just tell me one thing: If the test isn't going to be here, why did you shout that they were coming? – I ask my brother.
— Because I saw in a movie that people wake up quickly, to escape, when they think they're going to be caught.
Enraged, I end up standing on the bed and quickly running in order to settle the score with my brother, who had already noticed my intention since I got up (at which point he swallowed hard) and ran ahead.
All the places that Ciça Cecília once visited are gathered in one place... in Dreams! Some places and characters are based on real shows, so they are fanfics. Still, in these notes that I am making here, in this Inkspired Universe, there will be mixtures of facts and characters considered canonical in these stories in addition to others added by me, which in my stories may sometimes be canonical for me. Furthermore, you may be surprised from time to time by completely original Kingdoms (created by me) or come across a place that is right there in the real world. Because my stories simply live and happen. Read more about Dream.
