In the technological world of Cinthyatar, society is, for the most part, peaceful. Crimes such as murder and rape are nonexistent, physical currency has been replaced with a social credit system known as 'Relevancy', and the cybernetic humans called Cinthyans have tons of unique features that make them special to not only themselves but to others around them. This story revolves around Corusso Notak, an average working man who is ecstatic about his wife becoming pregnant and preparing himself physically, mentally, and emotionally to become a father. Unbeknownst to him, many decisions that were not made known to him or by him were always at play... Part of the SARTAM universe.

"Honey! I'm home!" Corusso said to his wife, who wasn't sitting on the on the loveseat in the living room like she usually was.

He was super excited to finally be off work after slaving away at his 3 office jobs for 6a to 12a. Ever since the social media post loving wife Sonia had made about her pregnancy test coming back positive for his baby girl, Corusso had been on cloud 9 for the past 2 months. To prepare for being a father, the older man managed to quit smoking and himself as well as his wife got off of drinking alcoholic beverages. He was already a stable provider and was more than ready to buy and fix up a complex building to start his own business as a warehouse for weapon manufacturing. That was until he got a call on his high tech smart phone.

"Russo, what's up?" he said with the phone held up to his left ear, a look of worry all over his face.

"Hey, it's your private doctor, Michael Thrax. Called to inform you that your wife, Sonia, went into labor early, and we managed to deliver the baby..." the doctor stated in a plain sounding tone.

"However -"

"Transporting now!" Corusso said with a big smile on her face.

After hanging up the phone, the bald man lifted his left wrist and used his right middle and thumb fingers to transport himself to the hospital. As soon as he materialized into the room where his wife was laying in bed, the man closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he was filled with anxiety for being able to meet his daughter for the first time. Upon opening his eyes and looking over at Sonia, however, he saw no baby in her arms. What made matters even worse was that the crying he heard as soon as he warped there was not of a crying infant. It was of an adult woman...

"S-Sweetheart, W-What's wrong?" Corusso stammered out with a cracking voice.

He then felt the warm left hand of Dr Michael Thrax being placed onto his left shoulder before whipping his head back around to face him.

"I didn't get to finish telling you over the phone, Russo. We delivered the baby, but the organic parts of the body were cold and hollow with no detection of a pulse. So much so that when it came in contact with the oxygen in the room, your daughter's infant arm chipped and broke right off of her. She's gone..." the doctor stated with sadness in his voice.

With a blank stare on his face, Sonia's husband fell to his knees and let out a scream akin to a war cry. He then balled up each of his hands into fists and proceeded to punch to the white tiled floor of the hospital until there were miniature craters left in the spots he had hit. This was the first transition in Corusso's life that altered his personality forever.

2 months earlier...

Corusso had just gotten home from work. Sitting on the loveseat was Sonia, who was all smiles after posting the results of her pregnancy test to social media.

"I'm going to be a mom!" She exclaimed to her tired looking husband excitedly.

"And I'm going to be the best dad on Cinthyatar!" Corusso followed up with, his tone not being as enthusiastic as hers but was pretty close.

After plopping himself onto the couch at his wife's right side, the loving husband threw his left arm around her and sighed with immense relief. He, as well as Sonia, were at relative ease in their lives.

"I don't know what I'd do without you, baby." Corusso said to her sincerely as he looked into her eyes.

"I feel like the universe gave me a freebie when it came to snagging you..."

"You certainly didn't get me for free, babe, haha!" Sonia teased him, pecking his lips with her own.

The married pair would then share their thoughts about their future once the baby girl they have agreed to name 'Harmonie' entered their lives. Sonia suggested getting a job, but Corusso refused. Instead, He insisted on getting another job while she stayed at home and watched over their child, much to the wife's dismay.

"Why are you bearing so high of a burden, Russo? You working 3 jobs means you will never be home!" Sonia yelled out frustratedly, somewhat alarming her husband.

"I know you'll won't see me." He replied with a somber tone.

"But it'll only be for 9 months, so I can afford the complex that you, me, and our daughter can live in instead of this one story house!" The husband stated further to her.

After a moment of silence, Sonia closed her eyes, first breathing in and then out her nose. She had relented on his decision. With nothing to say, She watched as Corusso got up from the loveseat and made his way upstairs to undress. She then turned her head forward, looking at a small black hole in their white wall.

"HV on!" She shouted over at the living room wall.

She then watched on in silence as 4 beams of light shot out from the hole, creating a rectangle that was suspended in midair. It showed pictures as well as videos for her to watch. As she let the HV play, Sonia found herself growing more and more depressed after her conversation with her husband. She had to spend 9 months by herself until the baby was born. There was no one to talk to. There was no way to make love to Corusso when she wanted it. The thought of being lonely scared her more than being a mother. That was until an emergency commercial played in front of her eyes. After watching it, Sonia's depressed attitude went away immediately, knowing full well what she needed to do...

After getting dressed in pajamas, Corusso made his way down the stairs to see his wife cleaning the metal floor with nothing but a sponge and a silver clean of stainless steel cleaner named 'Xixinel'. He was both satisfied and surprised due to the fact that she doesn't like cleaning whatsoever. It was something she always made him do.

"Woah-ho! Who are you, and what have you done with Sonia!" Corusso laughed out of his mouth.

"It's our child, Russo." She said with glee.

"We learn something for ourselves to teach others to help themselves."

"Right on, babe!" Her husband said with a single hand clap.

"Then I'll go and make dinner..."

She then watched with joy as Corusso ran into the kitchen and fumbled around to get a skillet. Sonia knew that only something good could come from what she saw on the HV today...
