Repentance

I looked and looked, upon pain, upon pain.

And I saw all. I saw all.

I saw gold above and saw gold thoughout.

My eyes darkened, I saw the black beyond.

I rummaged and rummaged, seeking pain, seeking pain.

And I found it all. I found it all.

I found thieves around and found thieves inside,

My heart saddened, I found your empty halls.

I shouldn't have looked, I shouldn't have seen.

I shouldn't have searched, I shouldn't have found.

I repent and repent, of my wrong and loss,

I lost all. All, is gone.

I lost you. And you are lost.

I cried you. You now cry.

I miss you. And you're alone.

Sorrounded, but alone.

Sorrounded, but alone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now embers at my feet, they burn my everyday.
All days are pain, all days.
And the nights are darker, stretching into mist.
All nights are hurt, all nights.
I shouldn't have gone, I shouldn't have found.
I shouldn't have spoke, I shouldn't have touched.
And I heard all, and all was good.
And I said all, and all was death.
For there is madness behind the gold, and madness I know.
Tis' a madness beyond my power, I simply could not.
And it burns you and it burns me.
Stop it, for loves long past, end it.
Now only embers, only smoke and hurt.
Now only salted water, only blur.
This is a day of black roses, a day of poisoned sweets.
No hands hold each other, no lips touch under magic moons.
This is a day of repent and misunderstanding,
It is a day of raw sadness and words.
No green lakes to look into, no deep seas to drown in.
No structures, no prose, no charm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I heard and heard, only pain, only pain.

And I cried all, I cried all.

I saw gold above and saw blue inside.

My arms held you, I found the home I left.

But you are in shadow, in shadow your words.

You are at war, at eternal war.

I fought winters and I fought spring.

But this war is not mine, this war I watch and cry.

You hurt me, now you are hurt.

You lied to me, now you see truth.

I miss you, and you're alone.

And so am I.

Repented and alone.

Repented and alone.
