I

Where are you?  I wish I knew.

Are you happy?  I'd love to know.

How was your night?  What dreams invaded you?

I ask myself this, each morning.

Did you smile today, a smile from the heart?

Did you laugh out loud, and did people turn to look?

Your laugh still repeats itself,

in this sickened mind of mine.

What did you wear today?  Did you feel pretty?

You are pretty, you're beautiful.

What will you eat today?  Remember when I cooked for you?

I loved cooking for you.

I miss you.

I do.

I have been crying some, almost every day.

It feels real this time, do you feel so too?

I have been torturing myself, daily, with beatiful songs,

they sing of a love so like our own.

I've been looking at our pictures, they make me smile.

But they sadden me too, I wish you were here.

It's hard to accept, that you will never be here,

never again.

Do you think of me?  Are you seeing anyone?

It's useless to ask, and it's useless to know.

I just hope that happiness visits you daily,

and kisses your forehead, and hugs you tightly.

I miss you.

I really do.

This distance is hard to endure,

I guess it will get easier with time.

But I'll ever long to meet you, again,

and embrace you with this love untarnished.

I love you.

I'll always do.

Meet the author

Cristian Orellana In search of sanity and peace. I write short poems, they give me solace and happiness. Rather dark and cryptic, I do hope they connect with someone. I am an amateur writer, and I hope to improve the more I write and learn. Thank you for reading. I also do some instagraming, look for me as @chirimantecman.
